Biography

The Brazilian band 2x0 Vargem Alta emerged in 2014, with its origins rooted in São Pedro da Serra, Rio de Janeiro. The band's formation was a collaborative effort, initially stemming from informal recording sessions between Chico Chico and Rodrigo Garcia. These sessions aimed to capture original songs that were beginning to surface, preventing them from being lost.

The project gained momentum as more friends contributed, infusing the songs with energy and developing them further. This organic growth naturally led to the idea of a CD, a project, and eventually, a band. The name "2x0 Vargem Alta" itself is derived from a local slang and a story within the broader narrative of their musical journey. The band's initial lineup solidified with Chico Chico on guitar and vocals, Dudu Souto on bass, Leandro Bocão on guitar, Pedro Fonseca on keyboards, and Artur Pedrosa on drums.

2x0 Vargem Alta is notably associated with Chico Chico, the son of the iconic Brazilian singer Cássia Eller. His involvement brought significant attention to the band, especially with the release of their debut album in 2015. The band's sound has been described as having timbres reminiscent of Cássia Eller's own style, showcasing Chico Chico's musical lineage while establishing their unique identity within the Brazilian music scene. They have released music through the Porangareté label, co-owned by Chico Chico himself.
