Biography

A Banca was a Brazilian rock band formed in 2013 by the remaining musicians of Charlie Brown Jr. following the passing of vocalist Chorão. Composed of Champignon on vocals, Thiago Castanho and Marcão on guitars, Bruno Graveto on drums, and Lena Papini on bass, the group emerged with the purpose of preserving the original lineup and ideological essence of their former band, adopting a slang term from the outskirts that symbolized unity and camaraderie.

During its short trajectory of only five months, the band toured Brazil with the "Chorão Eterno" tour, paying tribute to Chorão's legacy and performing classic hits of national rock. The group also released its first and only unreleased single, titled "O Novo Passo", and was planning the recording of its debut album when activities were abruptly interrupted.

The band's activities came to an end in September 2013 following the tragic passing of vocalist and bassist Champignon. With the project's premature end, the remaining members followed distinct paths in Brazilian music, creating new projects such as the bands Bula, D'Chapas, and O Legado, keeping the influence of Santos alternative rock alive.
