Biography

A Banda Mais Bonita da Cidade is a Brazilian indie rock band formed in Curitiba in 2009. The group originally came together with the proposal of interpreting and rearranging songs by local independent songwriters. The lineup features Uyara Torrente on vocals, Vinícius Nisi on keyboards, Luís Bourscheidt on drums, Eduardo Rozeira on guitar, and Vic Vilandez on bass.

The band achieved massive national and international prominence in 2011 with the release of the music video for "Oração," composed by Leo Fressato. Shot in a single continuous take in Rio Negro, Paraná, the viral video captured the internet's attention and propelled the group into the spotlight. Following this viral phenomenon, they released their self-titled debut album funded largely through crowdfunding via Catarse.me.

Over the years, the group has expanded its discography with multiple studio albums, live releases, and EPs, including works like O Mais Feliz da Vida, De Cima do Mundo Eu Vi o Tempo, and O Futuro já está Acontecendo. Collaborating with various artists such as China and Ana Larousse, A Banda Mais Bonita da Cidade remains an important fixture of contemporary Brazilian indie music.
