Biography

A Fase Rosa is a band from Minas Gerais formed in Belo Horizonte in 2009, known for its sound that blends diverse influences from Brazilian and international music. The group's name is a reference to painter Pablo Picasso's "rose period", evoking the joy and lightness present in their compositions. The band stands out for its ability to transition between rhythms such as MPB, samba, axé, rock, jazz, funk, and maracatu, creating a "musical blender" that reflects Brazil's cultural plurality.

Throughout their career, A Fase Rosa has released albums such as "Homens Lentos" (2013) and "Leveza" (2014), the latter the result of a successful crowdfunding campaign. The lyrics, often critical and attentive to everyday life, take on a lighter and more optimistic tone in more recent work, without losing their depth. The band's inspirations include tropicalism figures such as Tom Zé, Caetano Veloso, and Gilberto Gil, as well as 1970s Brazilian music names like Itamar Assunção.

The band consists of Thales Silva (guitar and vocals), Fernando Monteiro (drums and vocals), Rafael José (guitar and vocals), and Rodrigo Magalhães (bass and vocals). A Fase Rosa has performed on various stages across Brazil, seeking to expand its reach and consolidate its proposal to "translate everything that is the world into a Brazilian language," engaging with different audiences and musical scenes.
