Biography

A Outra Banda da Lua is a Brazilian musical group originating from Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, formed in 2015. The band stands out for its sound that blends elements of rural rock, psychedelic pop, MPB, and regional influences from the Minas Gerais backcountry. This fusion creates a unique musical identity that evokes both the roots of Brazilian music and contemporary experimentation.

The current lineup of the group features Edssada (vocals and guitar), Matheus Bragança (vocals and bass), Mateus Sizílio (vocals, drums, and synthesizers), André Oliva (vocals and guitars), Davi Ramos (drums), and Daniel Martins (percussion). Previously, Marina Sena, who is also a member of the group Rosa Neon, was a vocalist and songwriter for the band. A Outra Banda da Lua's journey includes participation in festivals and awards, such as the Minas Gerais Music Award, as well as the release of albums like "A Outra Banda da Lua" (2020) and "Entre a Terra e o Sol" (2025).

The lyrics frequently explore themes related to nature, the daily life of the interior of Minas Gerais, and reflections on identity and belonging. The band is recognized for its authenticity and its ability to translate the culture of northern Minas Gerais into its music, seeking a dialogue between the regional and the universal. Artists like Milton Nascimento and Novos Baianos are references that echo in their work, yet always with an innovative and original approach.
