Biography

The group Absyntho emerged in the city of Rio de Janeiro in 1982, bringing together musicians Sylvinho Blau-Blau, Fernando Sá, Sérgio Diamante, Wanderley Pigliasco and Darcy. The band left its mark on the national pop rock scene in the 1980s by landing major radio hits, highlighted by the memorable song "Meu Ursinho Blau Blau", which propelled the ensemble to instant fame.

In October 1983, the quintet released their first single containing the widely popular hit, selling hundreds of thousands of copies. Afterward, they continued their journey with new releases, including the single "Palavra Mágica" in 1984 and, the following year, their self-titled debut studio album, which brought more standout tracks such as "Balanço do Trem".

After a period of intense activity in the Brazilian musical scene, the group ended its activities in 1987. With the end of the band, lead singer Sylvinho Blau-Blau attempted to establish a solo career, while Absyntho's legacy remained associated with the irreverent sound of that decade, sharing the popular imagination with artists of the era like BLITZ and RPM.
