Biography
José Accioly Cavalcante Neto was born in Goiana, Pernambuco, on July 11, 1950. He began his artistic career in 1975, working as the lead singer of the groups Bulldog and Big Som in Rio de Janeiro. Over the years, he stood out in the northeastern music scene as a singer and songwriter, participating in important festivals and landing hits recorded by major interpreters such as Fagner, Elba Ramalho, and Flávio José.
In 1991, the artist suffered a severe car accident that left him with physical sequelae and triggered a period of deep depression, although he persisted in his artistic output. In 1995, he released his first studio album, entitled "Lembrança de um Beijo", whose title track received extensive airplay and was recorded by various names in Brazilian popular music.
Accioly Neto passed away prematurely on October 29, 2000, in Recife, as the victim of a cerebral aneurysm. Posthumously, the CD "Meu Forró" was released, which included the famous song "Espumas ao Vento", later immortalized on the soundtrack of the award-winning film "Lisbela e o Prisioneiro", directed by Guel Arraes in 2003.
