Biography
Adalberto da Costa Fonseca Filho, known artistically as Adal Fonseca, was born in Porto Alegre on October 26, 1972. He began his journey on the drums at age 13, integrating into the Rio Grande do Sul music scene with groups like Curto Circuito and accompanying local artists before moving to Rio de Janeiro in the 1990s to play with the group As Sublimes. Throughout his career, he built a solid reputation accompanying big names in Brazilian music such as Pepeu Gomes, Sidney Magal, Lobão, Marina Elali, Gilberto Gil, and Paula Toller.
Between 1996 and 2001, he consolidated his national prominence by becoming part of the lineup of Engenheiros do Hawaii, participating in important tours and recordings of the rock band from Rio Grande do Sul led by Humberto Gessinger. Afterward, he collaborated with several other prominent projects, joining the band of Kleiton e Kledir and, starting in 2011, becoming part of Kid Abelha in the group's 30th-anniversary DVD.
In addition to his work as a studio and touring musician alongside artists such as Marcos Valle, Roberto Menescal, and Wanda Sá, Adal Fonseca also dedicates himself to original work and side projects. He maintains the band Osso alongside guitarist Luciano Granja and DJ Robson, while continuing to collaborate with names like Danni Carlos and Paula Toller.
