Biography

Adilson Bispo, born May 8, 1952, is a prominent Brazilian samba singer and songwriter. His career began in the early 1980s when he started frequenting the Pagode do Arlindinho, a gathering hosted by Arlindo Cruz, which became a fertile ground for emerging samba talents.

Bispo's songwriting journey gained significant traction in 1984 with the release of "Coração Feliz," a collaboration with Marquinhos PQD and Gerson do Valle, which was recorded by the renowned Beth Carvalho and became the title track and lead single for her album. This success paved the way for numerous other compositions to be recorded by major figures in Brazilian samba.

Over his career, Adilson Bispo has had over 150 songs recorded by esteemed artists such as Zeca Pagodinho, Almir Guineto, Jovelina Pérola Negra, and Elza Soares. His most frequent collaborator is Zé Roberto, but he has also partnered with other notable songwriters. Bispo has also released his own solo albums, including "Conselhos e Mensagens" (2002) and "Questão de Respeito" (2005), further solidifying his place in the Brazilian music scene.
