Biography

Aeroblus was an influential hard rock and blues power trio formed in 1977, bringing together prominent musicians from the South American scene. The group was born when guitarist and vocalist Pappo and bassist Alejandro Medina, who were living on a farm in Campo Limpo Paulista, invited Brazilian drummer Rolando Castello Júnior to play together. The strong musical chemistry between them led to a move to Buenos Aires, where they consolidated the project and recorded their only and acclaimed debut album in 1977.

The self-titled record released by the group became a historical milestone of 1970s rock in South America, paving the way for the development of several heavy bands in the region. The track "Vamos a Buscar La Luz", taken from this work, received major prominence when it was voted by Roadie Crew magazine in 2011 as one of the two hundred essential heavy metal and classic rock anthems. For Pappo's career, the band represented a fundamental bridge between the sound of his previous project, Pappo's Blues, and the future heavy aesthetic of the group Riff.

Years later, in May 2010, the ensemble promoted an emotional tribute concert at El Teatro de Flores, featuring a reunion of Alejandro Medina, Rolando Castello Júnior, and the participation of guitarist Chizzo, who replaced the late Pappo. With a short work but of lasting impact, Aeroblus remains revered by enthusiasts of Latin American heavy rock. This trajectory cemented Rolando Castello Júnior's name alongside icons like Pappo in the history of heavy music on the continent.
