Biography

Aíla was born in the Terra Firme neighborhood, on the outskirts of Belém do Pará, and began her musical journey singing in the official band of the Paróquia São José de Queluz. During her childhood, she studied music theory at the UFPA School of Music and was influenced artistically by her grandfather, the composer and multi-instrumentalist Alexandre Magalhães. Before dedicating herself entirely to music, she graduated with a degree in trilingual secretariat from the State University of Pará, but soon began performing in bars in the Paraense capital.

In 2008, she emerged on the musical scene of the Northern Region by winning festivals and capturing awards for best interpreter. Her debut album, "Trelêlê", released in 2012 with production by Felipe Cordeiro, mixed traditional Amazonian sounds with pop modernity and featured guest appearances by Dona Onete and Gaby Amarantos. The success projected her name nationally, leading her to participate in the Brazilian Music Award in 2013 alongside major icons such as João Bosco, Zélia Duncan, and Adriana Calcanhotto.

In 2016, she released her second album, "Em Cada Verso Um Contra Ataque", produced by Lucas Santtana with a strong artivist touch and a focus on gender and racism issues. In addition to her career as a singer and songwriter, Aíla works as an entrepreneur and curator, conceptualizing festivals such as the Festival MANA, aimed at female protagonism in music. She has also maintained expressive collaborations with contemporary artists, such as her partnership with Luísa e Os Alquimistas on the single "Amor e Sacanagem".
