Biography
Paulo de Oliveira Godinho Ferreira, known professionally as Akira Presidente, is a prominent Brazilian rapper and cultural producer from Rio de Janeiro. He emerged in the early 2000s, frequenting freestyle rap battles in the Lapa neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. His breakthrough came when he became the first MC to win the renowned "Batalha do Real" (Battle of the Real), a pivotal moment that introduced him to the broader Hip Hop culture.
Akira Presidente's discography includes EPs like "O Que Tu Qué?" (2008), "Ziriguidumbarulhodoido" (2014), and "Pós Expediente" (2015). He released his debut album "Meu Sotaque Meu Flow" in 2010, followed by the mixtape "O Rei do Iêiêiê e o Presidente do Iôiôiô" in 2012, which remixed songs from his album with those of Roberto Carlos. His 2017 album "Fa7her" was critically acclaimed. He is also a co-founder of the independent record label Pirâmide Perdida Records. He has collaborated with notable Brazilian artists such as Marcelo D2 and Sain. Akira Presidente has also been recognized for his work as a cultural producer and holds a law degree, though he chose to focus on his music career.
