Biography

Alessandro Correa de Campos, widely known as Padre Alessandro Campos, is a Brazilian Catholic priest, singer, and television presenter. Born in Guaratinguetá in 1982, he discovered his religious vocation in early childhood and entered the seminary at age thirteen, eventually being ordained a military priest in 2007. During his time as a military chaplain, he began incorporating traditional Brazilian country music into his religious services, earning him the moniker "Padre Sertanejo".

His career in the music industry skyrocketed with the 2014 release of his album "O que é que eu sou sem Jesus?", which sold hundreds of thousands of copies and propelled him onto international sales charts alongside secular superstars like Roberto Carlos and Ivete Sangalo. Sporting cowboy attire alongside his traditional clerical garments, Father Alessandro carved out a unique space bridging religious devotion and sertanejo culture. Alongside his musical achievements, he has built a prominent career as a broadcaster, hosting popular television and radio programs across networks such as TV Aparecida, Rede Vida, and TV Gazeta.

Despite his massive commercial success and widespread popularity among television audiences, his ministry has occasionally drawn controversy regarding his opulent lifestyle and high-profile municipal concert contracts. Nevertheless, he remains one of the most visible figures in Brazilian religious music, frequently touring the country to perform for large crowds of devoted followers. His distinct blend of faith and regional musical traditions draws comparisons to other prominent religious artists in Brazil.
