Alex Ribeiro, born Alexsander de Souza Maciel on July 6, 1972, is a prominent Brazilian singer, composer, and instrumentalist, deeply rooted in the rich traditions of Música Popular Brasileira (MPB) and samba.

As the son of the renowned samba singer and composer Roberto Ribeiro, Alex was immersed in the musical world from a young age. He grew up within the vibrant atmosphere of the Império Serrano, one of Rio de Janeiro's most traditional samba schools, where he became an integral part of the composer's wing and even contributed to the school's sound car. His musical journey has been marked by a dedication to preserving and evolving the samba genre, often performing his father's classic repertoire alongside his own original compositions.

Ribeiro's career gained significant traction in 2010 with the shows "Todo Menino É Um Rei" and "Roberto Ribeiro: Uma Aquarela Brasileira." He has been recognized and mentored by esteemed artists such as Jorge Aragão and Elza Soares, further solidifying his place in the Brazilian music scene.
