Biography

Alexandre Andrés is a Brazilian musician, born in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in 1987. He is a master's graduate in music from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), and is recognized for his talent as a flutist, guitarist, singer, and composer. His career began to gain significant traction in 2008 with the release of his first CD, "Agualuz," which featured collaborations with notable artists like Mônica Salmaso and André Mehmari. This album, along with his subsequent works, has earned him critical acclaim and several awards, including the "Natura Musical" award in 2009 and multiple "BDMG Instrumental" awards for best arrangement and composition.

Andrés has released several successful albums, including "Macaxeira Fields" (2012), which won "Best Brazilian Music CD" in Japan in 2013, "Olhe bem as montanhas" (2014), "Haru" (2017), "Macieiras" (2018), "Rã" (2019), and "Luar Total" (2025). His music often blends elements of Brazilian traditional music, jazz, and chamber music, drawing inspiration from artists like The Beatles. He has collaborated with a wide range of renowned Brazilian musicians, such as Egberto Gismonti, Hermeto Pascoal, and the group Uakti, solidifying his position within the vibrant Brazilian music scene.

Beyond his work as a performer and composer, Alexandre Andrés is also active as a music producer, having worked on albums for various artists. He has also toured internationally, including a notable tour in Japan in 2017 with pianist Rafael Martini.
