Biography

Alexandre Carlo Cruz Pereira was born in Brasília, Federal District, on March 30, 1974. He consolidated his path in Brazilian music as the lead singer, guitarist, and main lyricist of the famous reggae band Natiruts, founded in the federal capital. Over the years, he has led striking albums by the group, such as the self-titled Nativus and the acclaimed acoustic work recorded live.

In addition to his established work with Natiruts, the artist expanded his musical expression by venturing into side projects. In 2013, he released his first solo studio album, entitled Quartz, in which he explored sounds geared toward pop music. This foray demonstrated his versatility as a composer and instrumentalist outside the strict universe of reggae.

His contribution to the national music scene is marked by the popularization of commercial and critical mainstream Brazilian reggae, engaging with various exponents of national music. Alexandre Carlo's trajectory remains intimately linked to the history of the band Natiruts and the diffusion of the genre from the Midwest to the entire country.
