Biography

Aline Gonçalves Lopes Silva is a prominent Brazilian musician born in Rio de Janeiro. With a solid academic background, she earned a bachelor's degree in flute from UniRio, a degree in music education from UFRJ, and specialized in music education at the Conservatório Brasileiro de Música. Throughout her career, she has specialized in wind instruments such as the flute, piccolo, and clarinet, consolidating a strong career in the Brazilian instrumental music scene.

Her national prominence grew when she joined Trio Itiberê Zwarg and Itiberê Orquestra Família, participating in important recordings such as the albums Pedra do Espia and Calendário do Som. With Orquestra Família, she had the opportunity to share the stage with major names in instrumental music such as Hermeto Pascoal, Yamandu Costa, and Márcio Bahia. In addition, she collaborated directly with Hermeto Pascoal on his album Mundo Verde Esperança and has done notable work alongside artists like Carlos Malta, Egberto Gismonti, and Mônica Salmaso.

Beyond her instrumental work, Aline has stood out for her activism and promotion of culture, being the co-founder of Coletivo Essa Mulher, focused on female music production, and a member of the group El Efecto and Roberta Sá's band. She also conceived the EMMBRA project - Escritas Musicais de Mulheres Brasileiras, a songbook dedicated to instrumental compositions by female musicians from the country. Internationally, she led the group VerdeVioleta in a tribute to the work of Violeta Parra, touring South America.
