Biography
Aline Paula Nilson, artistically known as Aline Morena, was born in Erechim, in Rio Grande do Sul, on June 29, 1979. Her musical journey began at the age of 10 with studies in music theory, and during her childhood and adolescence, she participated in choirs, churches, and artistic events in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. She graduated in singing from the University of Passo Fundo and worked as a music education teacher and conductor of children's and youth choirs in Erechim. At the same time, she dedicated herself to lyrical singing recitals and private lessons in singing and traditional gaucho dances, in addition to creating melodies for poetry by renowned Brazilian authors.
The turning point in her career occurred in 2002, after winning a singing contest promoted by the MPB Conservatory of Curitiba, where she presented the show "Hermeto em Voz para Dançar". Shortly after, she met maestro Hermeto Pascoal, with whom she began a deep artistic and personal collaboration. This partnership resulted in the formation of the duo "Chimarrão com Rapadura" and the show "O Som Nosso de Cada Um", which premiered in São Paulo in 2004. Over the course of more than a decade, Aline Morena toured with Hermeto Pascoal and his group in several countries, also joining formations such as "Hermeto Pascoal e Big Band" and "Hermeto Pascoal e Orquestra Sinfônica".
In addition to her work as a singer, Aline Morena is a multi-instrumentalist, mastering piano, viola caipira, and body percussion, and also works as a composer and singing teacher. Her discography includes duo works with Hermeto Pascoal, such as the CD and DVD "Chimarrão com Rapadura" (2006), and solo albums like "Sensações" (2014) and "Aline Morena Convida" (2021). Her career is marked by versatility, exploring genres such as samba, jazz, MPB, and instrumental music, and by her commitment to music education, giving workshops and working with social projects aimed at children and adolescents.
