Biography

Nestor de Medeiros, better known by his stage name Almir Rogério, is a prominent Brazilian singer and songwriter born in Bragança Paulista on June 12, 1952. He began his musical journey in the 1960s, releasing a steady stream of singles and building his presence within the Brazilian music scene over the following decades.

His career reached a massive turning point in 1982 when he released the phenomenal hit "Fuscão Preto". The track struck a chord with the public, selling approximately one and a half million records, earning numerous awards, and cementing his fame across the entire country. Beyond his own performing career, he also established himself as a talented composer, writing the successful song "Se Deus Me Ouvisse", which was notably interpreted by the legendary sertanejo duo Chitãozinho & Xororó.

In addition to his prolific recording career spanning over thirty albums, Almir Rogério ventured into cinema. His massive musical success even inspired a film adaptation featuring Xuxa, and he acted under the direction of Jeremias Moreira Filho in the movie Fuscão Preto as the character Lima, following an earlier film appearance in 1967's Vidas Nuas.
