Biography

Altos Louvores is an iconic contemporary Christian music group founded in 1983, conceived by Edvaldo Novais at the Copacabana Baptist Church in Rio de Janeiro. The ensemble gained national notoriety starting from their participation in the 1st Baptist Youth Renewed Sacred Music Festival of Rio, establishing themselves as one of the biggest references in the gospel segment in Brazil throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Throughout its trajectory, the band became notable not only for their highly successful albums — such as "Anseios", "Para Onde Vão as Aves", and "Brilhante" — but also for functioning as a true nursery of talents in evangelical music. Through its ranks passed several singers and musicians who would later achieve expressive prominence in solo careers, such as Sérgio Lopes, Léa Mendonça, Eyshila, Marquinhos Gomes, Jozyanne, and Liz Lanne.

Following the passing of its leader and founder Edvaldo Novaes in 2011, the ministry left a profound legacy with sixteen recorded phonographic works. Their songs became timeless classics of Brazilian sacred music, perpetuating the artistic and evangelistic vision that marked generations of believers throughout the country.
