Biography

Alvin L, artistic name of Arnaldo Jose Lima Santos, was a renowned Brazilian musician and composer born in Salvador and based in Rio de Janeiro. He began his musical career in the late 1970s fronting the punk group Vândalos, later moving through projects such as Rapazes de Vida Fácil and the experimental band Brasil Palace. In the 1990s, he established himself as the main songwriter for Sex Beatles, a rock group that marked the scene of the era and featured musicians like Cris Braun alongside occasional collaborations from Dado Villa-Lobos.

Throughout his career, Alvin stood out above all for his prolific talent as a songwriter, with over 200 compositions published and recorded by various exponents of Brazilian music. His works gained voice in the interpretations of established artists such as Marina Lima, Capital Inicial, Leila Pinheiro, Belô Velloso, Toni Platão, and Ana Carolina. In 1997, he released his first self-titled solo album produced by Liminha, while also expanding his artistic vein into literature with the release of the thriller book O Veneno dos Pequenos Detalhes in 2020.
