Biography

Amarildo Nascimento is a distinguished Brazilian trumpeter, recognized for his multifaceted career as a soloist, chamber musician, and educator. He holds the prominent position of solo trumpeter with the São Paulo State University Symphony Orchestra (OSUSP) and is also the founder and solo trumpeter of the São Paulo Academic Orchestra/Uniopera. His extensive performance experience includes collaborations with numerous renowned orchestras such as the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (OSESP), the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra (OSB), and the Montevidéu Philharmonic Orchestra. Beyond his orchestral commitments, Nascimento is an active chamber musician, notably as a member of the São Paulo Brass Trio.

Nascimento's dedication to musical pedagogy is as significant as his performance career. He has served as a professor of Trumpet and Chamber Music at the Cantareira College for nearly a decade, contributing to the development of aspiring musicians. His academic pursuits include a Master's degree in Music from the University of São Paulo (USP), where he is currently a doctoral candidate. His research often focuses on breathing techniques for wind instrumentalists and the performance practices of Brazilian orchestral repertoire, leading to publications such as "Bachianas Brasileiras de Villa-Lobos: compilação de excertos e estratégias de estudo na esfera da orquestra sinfônica."

His international profile includes performances and masterclasses at festivals like the Camarão Brass and Percussion and Music Seminars in Tuscany. He has also been honored with a composition dedicated to him, "Abril Desconhecido" by Celso Mojola, premiered at the International Trumpet Guild Conference. Nascimento's work extends to musical theater and film, having been the principal trumpet for the Brazilian production of "Beauty and the Beast" and contributing to the soundtrack of the film "Salve Geral."
