Biography

Ana Paula Valadão is a prominent Brazilian contemporary Christian singer, songwriter, arranger, and pastor, best known as the leader and founder of the immensely popular worship band Diante do Trono. Born in Belo Horizonte, she grew up immersed in church music through her parents, pastors at the Igreja Batista da Lagoinha, and eventually launched Diante do Trono in 1998 to raise funds for missionary work in India. Under her leadership, the group released dozens of successful albums, sold millions of records, and set attendance records, including a historic gathering of two million people in São Paulo in 2003.

Throughout her career, Valadão has become a central figure in Brazilian gospel music, receiving numerous accolades such as Troféu Talento and Troféu Promessas awards, as well as a Latin Grammy nomination in 2012 for the album Sol da Justiça. Beyond her musical achievements, she has been actively involved in humanitarian and social causes, establishing the Missão DT organization to support missionary projects in Brazil and abroad. Her prominent platform and traditional theological stances have also occasionally placed her at the center of cultural and legal debates in Brazil, reflecting her enduring influence in the country's religious landscape.

In addition to her extensive work with Diante do Trono and collaborative projects with artists like Isaias Saad and Asaph Borba, Valadão has spent extended periods living and ministering in the United States, where she founded a local church branch in Florida.
