Biography

Anaadi, born Ana Paula Lonardi de Souza on December 17, 1986, is a Brazilian singer and actress who emerged from Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. She began her career in music around 2005, initially performing under the name Ana Lonardi. In 2017, after 12 years in the industry, she adopted the artistic name Anaadi, a Hindi word meaning "eternal." This rebranding coincided with the release of her debut album, "Noturno," which marked the first part of a trilogy inspired by "mental states."

Her musical style is a rich tapestry that weaves together influences from R&B, soul, reggae, afro, jazz, MPB, and samba, reflecting her diverse experiences and a deep connection to Brazilian musical traditions. Anaadi's work often explores themes of love, desire, and the complexities of modern relationships within an urban soundscape. Her artistic journey gained significant public attention after her participation in the reality show "The Voice Brasil" in 2013, where she garnered admiration from established artists.

Anaadi's talent and unique artistic vision were recognized on a global scale when she won the Latin Grammy for Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese Language in 2018 for her album "Noturno." She was also nominated in other categories, including Best New Artist. Beyond her music career, Anaadi has also ventured into acting, notably appearing in the film "Nervos de Aço" (2011). She has collaborated with a range of notable musicians, including Arrigo Barnabé, Rick Wakeman, and Roberto Menescal, further solidifying her position as a versatile and respected artist in the Brazilian music scene.
