Biography
Anavitória is a Brazilian folk-pop duo formed in 2014 in the city of Araguaína, Tocantins, by singers Ana Caetano and Vitória Falcão. Initially known for posting videos performing songs by artists such as Tiago Iorc, the artists gained national prominence and established themselves as one of the main names of the new generation of Brazilian popular music by blending elements of MPB, pop, and rural music.
Commercial and critical success was consolidated with the release of their self-titled debut studio album in 2016, which reached diamond certification and earned the duo a Latin Grammy for Best Portuguese Language Song with the track "Trevo (Tu)". Over the following years, the duo expanded their discography with award-winning works such as O Tempo É Agora (2018) and Cor (2021), in addition to prominent collaborations with major names in national music such as Nando Reis, Sandy, and Rita Lee.
With a style frequently associated with "rural pop" and performances marked by the habitual use of bare feet, Anavitória also brought their art to cinema with the autobiographical feature film Ana e Vitória (2018). The duo continues to influence the contemporary music scene, maintaining a trajectory marked by box office hits, sold-out tours, and several international awards.
