Biography

Lucas Anchieta Gonzaga Ribeiro, known artistically as Anchietx, is a singer and songwriter who emerged from the São Gonçalo hip-hop scene in Rio de Janeiro. Initially gaining recognition as a photographer for the collective Gangzilla, Anchietx began his musical journey in 2017, releasing his first single, "Sinta," in 2019. His solo career gained momentum with the release of his EP "Lucas" in 2024, featuring tracks like "Céu Azul," "Me Namora," "Zeca Pagodin," and "Amanhecendo." These releases showcase his blend of R&B, rap, and pop influences, highlighting his personal expression and artistic evolution.

In 2023, Anchietx became a member of the trio Os Garotin, alongside Cupertino and Leo Guima. This collaboration proved highly successful, culminating in the release of their album "Os Garotin de São Gonçalo" in 2024. The album garnered significant national attention and won the Latin Grammy for "Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese." Despite the success with Os Garotin, Anchietx continues to nurture his solo career, viewing it as a space for unvarnished self-expression beyond the group dynamic.

Anchietx's music is characterized by its fusion of R&B, soul, MPB, and pop, drawing inspiration from Brazilian artists such as Jorge Ben, Tim Maia, Cassiano, Gilberto Gil, and Caetano Veloso. His lyrics often explore themes of black representation, love stories, social critique, and the culture of Rio de Janeiro's periphery. His work, both solo and with Os Garotin, has been recognized for its innovative approach to Brazilian urban music, solidifying his position as a prominent voice in the contemporary music scene.
