Biography

André Jungmann Pinto, better known as André Jung, was born in Recife on May 12, 1961, but moved to São Paulo with his family in his childhood due to the aftermath of the 1964 military coup. He built a highly relevant career in the national rock scene, standing out as the drummer for two of the country's most important bands, as well as working as a music producer and a journalist with a degree from ECA/USP.

In the 1980s, he joined the group Titãs between 1982 and 1984, participating in the recording of the band's acclaimed debut album before his departure. Soon after, he joined Ira!, marking his presence on all the albums of the group's classic phase and sharing vocals with Nasi on the track "Advogado do Diabo," from the 1988 album PsicoAcústica. Concurrently, he produced the historic LP Hip-Hop Cultura de Rua with Nasi and collaborated on several side projects and solo works by artists such as Edgard Scandurra.

Throughout his career, he has also been involved with projects like Futuro Antigo y Los Ultimo Tipoz, alongside João Gordo, and Urban ToTem, in addition to working on the production of national pop music names like Manu Gavassi. Off stage, he combined his passion for journalism and motor racing, writing for outlets such as Folha de S.Paulo and creating the radio bulletin "Velocidade on the Rock!".
