Biography

André Gustavo Perlingeiro Paixão, more widely known by his artistic moniker Nervoso, is a Brazilian musician, producer, composer, and arranger born in Rio de Janeiro on February 13, 1972. He first gained recognition as the drummer for the influential underground band Beach Lizards from 1991 to 1997. His musical journey continued with him joining Acabou La Tequila in 1994, a project that remains active to this day. Nervoso's versatility was further showcased when he co-founded the trio Autoramas in 1998, a band that has left a significant mark on the Brazilian rock scene.

Throughout his career, Paixão has been a sought-after collaborator, lending his drumming talents to various notable artists and projects. He played drums for Wander Wildner during a tour in the Northeast and was a member of the band Matanza, with whom he recorded their debut album. In a notable moment, he even filled in as the drummer for Los Hermanos during a performance in Rio de Janeiro. Transitioning from drums, he also explored roles as a guitarist and vocalist in other projects, including Lafayette & Os Tremendões and his own band, Nervoso e os Calmantes.

More recently, André Paixão has focused on his work as a music producer, composer, and arranger, creating soundtracks for theater, cinema, TV, and advertising. In 2024, he released his album "Fora do Ritmo," which highlights his compositional skills and features collaborations with various drummers, showcasing a different facet of his musicality. His extensive discography and diverse collaborations solidify his position as a multifaceted and enduring figure in Brazilian music.
