Biography

Andreia Dias is a Brazilian singer and songwriter who has made significant contributions to contemporary Brazilian popular music and alternative scenes. Born in the state of São Paulo, she pursued formal musical training in popular singing at the Universidade Livre de Música Tom Jobim during the 1990s. Early in her career, she was a member of the initial lineup of the group Farofa Carioca before establishing various influential musical collaborations.

In 2001, she co-founded the band DonaZica alongside artists like Iara Rennó and Anelis Assumpção, recording notable albums such as Composição and Filme Brasileiro. She also joined Banda Glória in 2003, contributing to projects that bridged traditional and modern sounds, including a collaborative album with Cristina Buarque. Her solo career took flight with the release of her debut album Vol. 1 in 2008, which marked the beginning of her self-described "Trilogia da minha cabeça" and featured collaborations with musicians like Guilherme Kastrup.

Over the years, Dias has worked with esteemed figures of Brazilian music, recording alongside Zeca Baleiro and later becoming a vocal presence in the touring and recording projects of Tropicália pioneer Tom Zé, participating in albums like Língua Brasileira. Her diverse discography also encompasses solo works such as Pelos Trópicos, the Rita Lee tribute album Prisioneira do Amor, and Vol. 3, which concluded her TPMramental series. Throughout her journey, she has maintained a vibrant presence in the independent Brazilian music circuit, blending rock influences, samba sensibilities, and poetic lyricism.
