Biography

Antônio Cirilo da Costa was born in Rio Vermelho, Minas Gerais, on July 7, 1965. The son of farmworkers, he moved to Belo Horizonte during his adolescence and converted to Christianity at 18 years of age. He became a pastor, singer, missionary, and founder of the worship ministry Santa Geração at the Baptist Church of Contagem, building an extensive discography that includes dozens of albums and DVDs that are significant to the national Christian scene.

Throughout his career in gospel music, he stood out with widely acclaimed albums, such as the fourth record of his career, Poderoso Deus, which surpassed the mark of one million copies sold and earned a Diamond certification. His worship and praise songs gained recognition through international tours across various countries in Europe, Japan, South Africa, and the Americas, cementing his name alongside other major exponents of the segment such as Diante do Trono and Nívea Soares.

In addition to his intense activity as a songwriter and arranger, Cirilo also expanded his work into television with the program Santa Geração, broadcast by Rede Super. His work moves between congregational and devotional styles, featuring frequent collaborations with expressive names in Brazilian sacred music, such as David Quinlan and Heloísa Rosa.
