Biography

Antônio Hortêncio Rocha Neto is a Brazilian jurist, born on March 29, 1976, in João Pessoa, Paraíba. The son of Antônio Elias de Queiroga and Onélia Setúbal Rocha de Queiroga, he graduated in Law from the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) and holds a postgraduate degree in Criminal Sciences. His career in the Public Prosecutor's Office of Paraíba (MPPB) began on May 2, 2000.

Throughout his career, Rocha Neto has worked in various prosecution offices, including Sumé, Prata, Monteiro, Santa Rita, Bayeux, and João Pessoa. He has also held prominent positions in the upper administration of the MPPB, such as secretary-general and internal affairs prosecutor. His performance led him to be elected Prosecutor-General of Justice of the MPPB on two occasions, for the 2021-2023 and 2023-2025 biennians, being the most voted candidate in both elections. His reappointment to the position in 2023 was published in the Official State Gazette.

In 2025, Antônio Hortêncio Rocha Neto was promoted to the position of 7th Prosecutor of Justice of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Paraíba, by merit criterion, succeeding prosecutor Maria Lurdélia Diniz. His inauguration took place in July 2025, consolidating his legal career and his commitment to justice and Paraíba society. He is recognized for his administrative experience and for his dialogue with the legal profession and society.
