Biography

Antônio Lisboa was a Brazilian musician, born on June 13, 1887, in Angatuba, São Paulo. He was a composer, arranger, and maestro, dedicating much of his career to the formation and education of musicians and bands.

Lisboa was particularly influential in his hometown, serving as the maestro of the Lira Angatubense band and composing the melody for the Hino de Angatuba (Anthem of Angatuba) in collaboration with João Tizamba Nogueira. His contributions extended beyond music, as he also worked as an editor for the "Almanach Sul Paulista" in 1915 and was a co-owner of the newspaper "Cidade de Angatuba." He also held a position as a municipal public servant.

His legacy is also intertwined with his family, as he was the father of the actress Dina Lisboa. Antônio Lisboa passed away in 1986, leaving behind a significant mark on the musical and cultural landscape of Angatuba and the broader São Paulo region.
