Biography

Antônio Rogério is a Brazilian singer and songwriter who emerged from the vibrant music scene of Sergipe. He honed his skills in classical guitar at the Conservatory of Music of Sergipe and is also proficient on bass and viola. Rogério's career began to gain traction in 1984 when his song "O dia e a noite" was featured in the Festival Novo Canto in Aracaju.

Throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, Antônio Rogério was an active participant in various musical projects and festivals. He was part of the "Pé na estrada" project, showcasing Sergipe's music across the Northeast, and participated in the "Projeto Pixinguinha" in Aracaju. His collaboration with Chiko Queiroga led to his involvement as a bassist and vocalist on Queiroga's 1990 album "Cor de laranja." Rogério also contributed to several independent recordings during this period.

His solo career took flight in 1997 with the release of his album "Serpente." The following year, he released a live album with Chiko Queiroga, featuring original compositions. Antônio Rogério continued to be recognized for his songwriting, with one of his compositions being included in the "Festival canta Nordeste" compilation CD in 1995. His international presence was noted with performances at the JazzFest in New Orleans in 2000 and 2001, representing Brazil.
