Biography

Francisco Carvalho, better known as Apollo Nove (and previously as Apollo 9), is a renowned Brazilian music producer, multi-instrumentalist, and composer. His career in music began with classical piano training at the age of six in São Paulo. He joined the rap rock band Planet Hemp, alongside Marcelo D2 and Skunk, performing in over a hundred shows and contributing to the group's sound. His versatility led him to produce artists across various genres, such as Otto, Nação Zumbi, Cibelle, Seu Jorge, Rita Lee, and Paralamas do Sucesso, in addition to composing soundtracks for films and series.

In 2005, Apollo Nove released his debut solo album, "Res Inexplicata Volans," which featured renowned artists such as Seu Jorge, Céu, Cibelle, and Lanny Gordin. The album was acclaimed by critics for its fusion of genres, including jazz, bossa nova, electronic music, and rock, featuring innovative arrangements and Brazilian influences. The album's production was praised for its complexity and sonic experimentation, establishing Apollo Nove as a multifaceted artist.

In recent years, Apollo Nove has gained international prominence for creating a sound that went viral on TikTok, accumulating over 21 billion views. Inspired by the film "The Shining," the sound, with its dark violins, became the theme for countless videos on the platform, demonstrating the artist's ability to innovate and reach new audiences. His journey, moving between the production of major names in Brazilian music and the creation of viral content, reaffirms his importance and relevance in the contemporary music scene.
