Biography

Aquilo Del Nisso is a Brazilian instrumental music group formed in 1986, stemming from an initiative by musician friends who were looking for a space for study, creation, and experimentation. The group made its professional debut in 1989, participating in the Free Jazz Festival after being selected from hundreds of candidates. Their discography includes albums such as "Aquilo Del Nisso" (1990), "Tocando Tudo" (1992), "Chico Buarque Instrumental" (1994), "Festa Brasileira" (1997), and "Piratininga" (2009).

Throughout their career, Aquilo Del Nisso has accompanied several renowned artists of Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), such as Hermeto Pascoal, Dominguinhos, and Duofel. The album "Chico Buarque Instrumental", released in 1994, was especially acclaimed, receiving praise from Chico Buarque himself and a Sharp Award nomination. The record "Festa Brasileira" (1997) was dedicated to northeastern rhythms and featured the participation of Naná Vasconcelos, Chico César, and Virgínia Rosa, also receiving a Sharp Award nomination.

The group is known for its diverse instrumental lineup, which paved the way for the exploration of different forms of musical expression. Over the years, Aquilo Del Nisso has gone through various line-ups, but maintained its identity tied to jazz and Brazilian instrumental music. In 2009, the group celebrated 20 years of career with the release of the CD "Piratininga", a tribute to the city of São Paulo.
