Biography

Armagedom is a Brazilian rock band formed in São Paulo in the early 1980s. The group's core members have included Javier (vocals), Barriga (guitar), Eduardo (bass), and Ricardo (drums). Their music is heavily influenced by thrash metal and punk, characterized by fast tempos and socially conscious lyrics, drawing parallels to the politically charged punk of The Clash.

The band's lyrical themes often address poverty, death, injustice, agony, and despair, reflecting a critical view of societal issues. Armagedom's early work was featured on the compilation album "Ataque Sonoro" in 1985, alongside other prominent Brazilian punk bands. In 1986, they released their debut LP, "Silêncio Fúnebre," through Rainbow Records.

Throughout their career, Armagedom has undergone lineup changes and has continued to evolve their sound, incorporating elements of hardcore and crossover thrash. They have toured internationally, including in Europe, and have released several studio albums and splits. The band's self-proclaimed genre, "Deathcore," was first mentioned in the liner notes of their debut album, reflecting their unique and aggressive musical style.
