Arnaldo Amaral, born Arnaldo Augusto do Amaral Filho, was a prominent Brazilian singer, radio host, producer, and actor who left a significant mark on the country's entertainment scene, particularly during the 1930s and 1940s. Born in the vibrant Vila Isabel neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, Amaral's initial foray into the arts was met with familial resistance, as his father wished for him to pursue a career in law. However, Arnaldo's passion for music led him to the radio waves, beginning his career at Rádio Guanabara and soon after joining the cast of the popular "Programa Casé." His recording career commenced in 1933, and he quickly became known for his interpretations of sambas and marches.

Beyond his work as a singer, Arnaldo Amaral was a highly influential figure in radio production. He is particularly remembered for his program "Pescador de Estrelas" (Star Fisher), which served as a crucial platform for discovering and launching the careers of numerous Brazilian artists. Among the talents he helped to reveal were Zezé Gonzaga, Ângela Maria, Jamelão, Dóris Monteiro, Alaíde Costa, and Altamiro Carrilho, solidifying his reputation as a key talent scout in the Brazilian music industry.
