Biography

Arthur de Faria is a prominent Brazilian pianist, composer, arranger, producer, researcher, and journalist born in Porto Alegre. He has built a prolific career bridging instrumental music, theatre, and cinema, releasing numerous albums and collaborating with a wide array of artists across South America. His academic background includes a Master's and Doctorate in Brazilian Literature from UFRGS, with a strong focus on popular song and figures like Lupicínio Rodrigues.

Throughout his career, Arthur has led several notable musical projects, including the Bando Barato pra Cachorro, Arthur de Faria & Seu Conjunto, the Surdomundo Imposible Orchestra, and the chamber band Tum Toin Foin. He has also scored numerous feature films and theatrical productions, working closely with directors such as Felipe Hirsch and Daniela Thomas. In addition to his performance and compositional output, he has produced dozens of records for artists like Wander Wildner and Nico Nicolaiewski, and written books on Brazilian musical history.

His extensive collaborative network features renowned musicians such as Lupicínio Rodrigues, Vitor Ramil, and Fernanda Takai. As a radio personality, he spent nearly two decades co-hosting the popular talk show Cafezinho in Porto Alegre.
