Biography
Arthur Nestrovski is a Brazilian classical guitarist, composer, critic, and cultural manager born in Porto Alegre. With a degree in music from the University of York and a doctorate from the University of Iowa, he has built a solid career combining musical creation with theoretical reflection, having worked as a critic for the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo and as an editor of literary and musical publications.
Throughout his career in guitar and song, Nestrovski has released acclaimed albums such as Jobim Violão and Chico Violão, alongside collaborative projects with artists such as Celso Sim, his daughter Lívia Nestrovski, and singer Paula Morelenbaum. His work moves fluidly between erudition and Brazilian popular culture, frequently engaging in dialogue with fundamental creators such as Zé Miguel Wisnik and Luiz Tatit.
In addition to his artistic and academic work, Nestrovski has held important management positions, standing out as artistic director of the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (Osesp) and the Campos do Jordão Festival for over a decade. He is also an award-winning writer of children's literature and essays, accumulating distinctions such as the Jabuti Prize.
