Biography

As Frenéticas was a pioneering Brazilian girl group formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1977 by Nelson Motta. Originally composed of Dhu Moraes, Edyr Duque, Leiloca Neves, Lidoka Martuscelli, Regina Chaves, and Sandra Pêra, the group emerged from the success of the Frenetic Dancing Days Discotheque. They quickly transitioned from waitresses wearing tight-fitting outfits and high heels to sensations who performed energetic, humorous, and daring musical numbers on stage.

Their distinct sound and provocative style blended disco music with theatrical flair, highlighted by hits such as "Perigosa", co-written by Rita Lee and Roberto de Carvalho, and "A Felicidade Bate a Sua Porta" by Gonzaguinha. Throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, the group achieved immense popularity, even recording opening themes for prominent Rede Globo soap operas like Dancin' Days. After various line-up changes and reunions over the decades, As Frenéticas left an enduring legacy in Brazilian pop and disco music culture.
