Biography

As Mineirinhas is a Brazilian sertanejo duo that gained prominence in the 1980s and 1990s. The original and most well-known formation consisted of cousins Sandra de Oliveira and Valéria Barros. Both born in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, they began their musical journey in 1980, quickly establishing themselves as a significant force in Brazilian country music.

Throughout their career, As Mineirinhas released numerous albums, with hits like "Cartas na Mesa," "Assim Você Vai Me Perder," and "Briga Com Ela." Their music often featured themes of love, heartbreak, and rural life, resonating with a wide audience across Brazil. The duo's success was marked by their distinctive vocal harmonies and their contribution to the female presence in the sertanejo genre.

While Sandra and Valéria were the faces of the duo for many years, the group has seen other formations over time. Valéria Barros has also pursued a successful solo career, continuing to be a respected artist in the sertanejo scene. As Mineirinhas, in its various iterations, remains a recognized name in the history of Brazilian popular music, particularly within the sertanejo tradition.
