Biography

Astafix is a Brazilian thrash metal band formed in 2009 in São Paulo. The band originated from the solo project of Wally, former guitarist of CPM 22, who decided to explore a heavier sound oriented toward heavy and thrash metal, genres that inspired him at the beginning of his musical career.

Their debut album, "End Ever", released in the same year they formed, was acclaimed by critics and the public, earning the band the "Brazilian Metal Revelation" award from Roadie Crew magazine. The album featured special appearances by renowned musicians such as Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) and Paul X (Monster), and led to a tour that passed through several cities in Brazil as well as South American countries like Chile and Argentina.

The band's journey was also marked by the loss of guitarist Paulo Schroeber in 2014, who contributed significantly to the band's sound on albums like "End Ever" and "Internal Saboteur". The band pushed forward, releasing "Internal Saboteur" in 2015, an album dedicated to Schroeber's memory that was widely praised by the specialized media and considered one of the best thrash metal releases of the year.
