Biography

Atroz is a Brazilian hardcore/metal band formed in São Paulo in 2006. The band stands out for blending influences of hardcore, grind, thrash, and death metal in their compositions, creating a powerful and aggressive sound. The lyrics address social and political themes with acidity and sarcasm, seeking to "poke the system's wound."

Throughout their career, Atroz has released three main works: the album "Hardcore 3° Mundo" (2007), the CD "Diabolus in Lula" (2009), and the EP "Apokalipse" (2010). The album "Diabolus in Lula" was particularly noted for its intensity and for guest appearances by musicians such as Johnie (Simbioze), João Gordo (RDP), Marcello Pompeu (Korzus), and Renato Correia (ex-Agrotóxico).

The band has gone through some lineup changes, but has maintained its musical essence. Atroz is frequently compared to other bands in the Brazilian hardcore/punk scene, such as Ação Direta and Ratos de Porão, being considered an important name for fans of the genre. The band also released an EP in 2021.
