Biography

Autoramas is a prominent Brazilian rock band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1997 by singer and guitarist Gabriel Thomaz. Known for pioneering a style they describe as "Rock para Dançar" (Rock to Dance), the group blends 1960s surf music, 1980s new wave, rockabilly, Jovem Guarda, and punk rock energy into a signature high-voltage sound. Over the decades, the band has built a reputation as one of the most successful independent acts in Brazil, releasing acclaimed albums such as their debut Stress, Depressão & Síndrome do Pânico in 2000 and the award-winning Nada Pode Parar os Autoramas in 2003.

Throughout their extensive career, Autoramas has undergone several lineup changes while maintaining a relentless touring schedule that has spanned Brazil, Europe, Japan, and South America. They have collaborated with numerous notable Brazilian artists, including BNegão, Frejat, Fernanda Takai, and Luiz Thunderbird. Their 2018 album Libido received critical acclaim from publications like Rolling Stone Brasil, cementing their enduring influence on the Brazilian independent rock scene.
