Biography

Formed in Belém, Pará, in 2006, Banda AR-15 is a prominent group in the tecnomelody scene, a genre that blends romantic lyrics with the electronic beats characteristic of Paraense sound systems.

The band was conceptualized by Harrisson Lemos, who is also a singer, composer, producer, and businessman. The name "AR-15" was chosen to reflect the band's aim to be "powerful and modern, firing off hits." They made their debut at the A Pororoca music venue in Belém and quickly gained notoriety, especially with vocalist Rebeca Lindsay, who became a muse of the tecnomelody movement. Their music, characterized by romantic themes and danceable electronic rhythms, resonated widely, leading to numerous live DVDs and tours across the northern and northeastern regions of Brazil.

Over the years, Banda AR-15 has seen changes in its lineup, with May Souza and later Carol Lemos and Letícia Rocha joining as vocalists alongside Harrisson Lemos. Despite these shifts, the band has continued to produce successful tracks such as "Vou tirar o pé" and "Meu vício." Their significant cultural impact has been recognized, with their work being declared an Intangible Cultural Heritage of the State of Pará, celebrating their contribution to the region's musical identity.
