Biography

Banda Gentileza is a Brazilian musical group formed in 2005 in Curitiba, known for blending various rhythms and musical genres. Operating as a quartet, the band recorded live EPs in 2005 and 2007 through the project "Grande Garagem que Grava" before releasing their self-titled debut studio album in 2009, produced by Plínio Profeta and featuring lyrics by lead vocalist and main composer Heitor Humberto. Throughout their career, they have performed at notable festivals such as Festival Calango, Lupaluna, and Psicodália, while also gaining wider exposure when their music was featured in the soundtrack of the television series Malhação and the film Julio Sumiu.

In 2013, the group celebrated the launch of their combo "Quem me Dera" at Sociedade 13 de Maio in Curitiba, featuring special guest appearances by artists like Rodrigo Lemos, who is associated with projects such as Lemoskine and A Banda Mais Bonita da Cidade, alongside Will Robson and Tetê Fontoura. The band's second studio album, Nem Vamos Tocar Nesse Assunto, was released in 2015, continuing their trajectory within the Brazilian independent music scene. Over the years, the lineup has included musicians such as Artur Lipori, Diego Perin, Tuna Castilho, Jota Borgonhoni, and Lucas Lara, alongside former members like Emílio Mercuri.

Their distinctive sound incorporates elements reminiscent of alternative and regional Brazilian music, bringing together traditional instrumentation and modern songwriting approaches. Alongside contemporaries from the Curitiba independent scene, Banda Gentileza has contributed to the diverse landscape of contemporary Brazilian music. Their collaborations with producers and regional artists have helped cement their presence in festivals and soundtrack projects across the country.
