Biography

Banda Kassikó is a Brazilian musical group formed in Recife, Pernambuco, in 1999. Their sound is marked by the fusion of rhythms such as calypso, brega, and forró, with influences from the Caribbean rhythm kasseko, which inspired the band's name. Initially led by vocalists Bispo Júnior and Gleyce Medeiros, the band established itself in Belém, Pará, and quickly gained notoriety in the music scene of Northern Brazil.

Throughout their career, Banda Kassikó has released several albums and DVDs, cementing their success with hits such as "Sozinha Estou", "Caso Complicado", and "A Força do Amor". Their first DVD, "Primeiro eu", recorded in 2005 in Palmas, Tocantins, for an audience of over 70,000 people, became a sales phenomenon, with more than 100,000 copies sold in just a few months. The band has gone through various line-ups, featuring vocalists such as Débora Loreh, Chuck Rodrigues, Wanda Ravelly, and Karina Brito, among others, always maintaining a romantic and danceable repertoire that has won over a legion of fans.

In 2024, Banda Kassikó announced their return to the stage with the "Kassikó Sempre Kassikó" tour, celebrating 25 years of history and introducing a new line-up aimed at reaching new audiences. The project includes the rerecording of their greatest hits, a new show with a mega-production, and an audiovisual recording. The band continues to be a reference in Pará brega and northern music, maintaining its relevance in the Brazilian music scene.
