Biography

Barbara Ohana is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and producer born in Rio de Janeiro in 1986. Her musical journey began in childhood as a member of the Petrópolis Girls' Choir. At the age of fourteen, she moved to Louisiana, USA, where she started composing her own music. This period abroad significantly influenced her artistic development, providing her with a rich foundation for her future career.

Before launching her solo career, Ohana honed her skills as a backing vocalist for prominent Brazilian artists such as Gilberto Gil and Jorge Mautner. She also lent her voice to international artists during their tours in Brazil, including acting as an interpreter for bands like U2 and producer Quincy Jones. This diverse experience in the music industry provided her with invaluable insights and connections.

In 2015, Barbara Ohana released her debut EP, "Dreamers," entirely in English, which garnered critical acclaim. The EP featured collaborations with notable musicians like Glenn Kotche (from Wilco) and Adriano Cintra (ex-CSS). Her music often blends indie pop with electronic elements, drawing comparisons to artists like Lykke Li. Her songs have also been featured in Brazilian television series, including "Verdades Secretas" and "O Homem da Sua Vida."
