In their early years, they performed in Rio de Janeiro's nightclubs and at the renowned Circo Voador. Their debut album, "Baseado em Blues," was released in 1996, featuring a mix of blues classics and original compositions. This album was produced by Daniel Cheese and included collaborations with notable Brazilian musicians such as Flávio Guimarães and Otávio Rocha from the band Blues Etílicos, Rick Ferreira, Arnaldo Brandão, and Erasmo Carlos.

Two years after their first album, Baseado em Blues released "Madrugada Blues," which featured a guest appearance by Celso Blues Boy. In 2000, the band recorded a live album titled "Um Acústico Baseado em Blues" during a performance at Mistura Fina in Rio de Janeiro. This acoustic album showcased a lineup that included Sérgio Rocha on guitar, Pedro Augusto on keyboards, Fabio Mesquita on bass, and Marco BZ on drums. The band's repertoire often includes both covers of blues standards and original songs penned by members like André Casquilho.

Throughout their career, Baseado em Blues has been recognized as a significant exponent of Brazilian blues music. Their sound is influenced by legendary blues artists such as B.B.
