Biography
Be Happy was a vocal quartet formed in 1990 in Brazil, initially comprising Ana Zinger, Xico Pupo, Kika Tristão, and Marcio Lott. The group was brought together for the recording of a promotional campaign, and their collaboration led to further musical endeavors. Their work primarily involved participating in various "Songbook" projects, which celebrated the music of renowned Brazilian composers.
Throughout their active period, Be Happy contributed to "Songbook" albums dedicated to influential artists such as Vinicius de Moraes, Carlos Lyra, Edu Lobo, Tom Jobim, and Djavan. They also participated in a Christmas-themed album, "É Natal," and Flávio Venturini's "Noites com sol." In 1993, Aline Cabral replaced Ana Zinger, and the quartet performed a season at Teatro Rival in Rio de Janeiro, alongside shows across Brazil.
While not releasing a large discography as a primary act, Be Happy's legacy lies in their significant contributions to these tribute albums, showcasing their vocal arrangements and interpretations of classic Brazilian music. Their involvement in these projects highlights their role in preserving and celebrating the rich heritage of Música Popular Brasileira (MPB).
